Rio Rancho, NM (KRQE)- A Rio Rancho man faces manslaughter charges after police say he shot his wife during an argument. According to police, 45-year-old John Vallejos was arguing with his wife when he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot himself. Police say he then turned the gun on his wife where they say Vallejos told them the gun went off. Police say she then called her sister who called authorities.
According to police, Vallejos has a history of domestic violence calls in the area but the wife refused to report the reporting office lying about the incident. Vallejos was booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center and faces one count of open murder.
