Pecos welcomes 2024 Earth Day Cleanup participants

PECOS, NM (KRQE) – Earth Day is just around the corner, and a New Mexico community is looking for cleanup participants.

To clean up the ecosystem, officials are spreading the word about them April 20 Earth Day Clean up rivers and streets. It will be held at 16 Guadalupe Ln from 9:30am to 12pm Pecos, New Mexico.

Several groups are coming together to perform the function. See those involved below:

  • Upper Pecos Watershed Association
  • Pecos Business Association
  • Pecos Canyon State Park
  • Santa Fe National Forest
  • Truchus Chapter Trout Unlimited
  • San Miguel County
  • New Mexico Wilderness Alliance

“This partnership represents a shared commitment to the conservation and careful management of our natural resources, highlighting the importance of community involvement in preserving the environment of the Pecos Watershed,” said a press release from the Pecos Watershed Authority. “This is an opportunity for individuals to make a real impact on the environment and build a healthier, cleaner future for our communities. We cordially invite everyone to join us in this meaningful endeavour. Whether you are a longtime advocate for environmental causes or want to get involved for the first time, your participation will significantly contribute to Pecos River conservation efforts.”
