Relieved of command of maintenance group commander at Holloman AFB

Alamogordo, NM (KTSM) – The commander of a maintenance group at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico has been relieved of his duties by the base’s commander.

The move was announced in a brief news release sent out by Holloman Air Force Base and the 49th Wing on Monday, March 25.

Col. Danzel Albertsen, commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, was relieved of his command due to a loss of confidence in his ability to lead, according to the news release.

Col. Justin Spears, commander of the 49th Wing, “designated new leadership to ensure the right command climate and the appropriate leadership of our Airmen,” the news release said.

Lt. Col. Kristen Torma, deputy commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, will assume command of the operational unit immediately, according to the news release.
