NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Authorities have announced charges against a woman who lives in Isleta Pueblo. Officials believe he killed two family members.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Maria Zuni, 32, of Isleta Village, is accused of killing her two sons. One was 5 and the other 9 months.
A criminal complaint alleges Zuni slashed her sons’ throats with a bread knife at their home. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
Zuni will remain in temporary custody pending his detention hearing, which is scheduled for March 27, 2024.
