‘Stranger Things’ homes for sale in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The hit Netflix TV show, ‘Stranger Things’ is shot on location throughout Albuquerque and now you can own an iconic home for the right price. A house that served as home to characters on the show is going on the market this weekend.

“It’s been a whirlwind and a lot of fun the whole way,” said homeowner Ryan Asher.

From TV screen to reality, this Albuquerque home has become a Hollywood landmark after being featured on the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. “Obviously, it will be bittersweet but we’ll let other people enjoy it,” Asher said.

On the show, the Byers family lived in the house located near Montgomery and Tramway during the fourth season. However, in the real world, it is owned by Ryan and Karen Asher. Ashers are putting the house on the market.

They bought the house back in 2021, renting it out as an Airbnb. Ashers says the house has brought in hundreds of fans of the show from around the world, including the Czech Republic, Australia and China.

“On the weekends, maybe one person every couple knocks on the door every three hours and just the excitement, they’re like, ‘Oh my God,’ they’re jumping up and down with excitement,” Asher said.

You can also still find remnants of the production throughout the room, including glass in the air vents from when an action scene was shot.

Over the past few years, they have spent their time replicating rooms from the show and adding unique vintage touches. They say prospective buyers can buy the house fully furnished for an acceptable offer.

“It’s brought a lot of joy to us and a lot of other people, and we hope it continues,” Asher said.

The owners will have an open house this Saturday from 12-3 p.m. Prospective buyers interested in viewing in person can contact Felicia Vaisa of Vertical Real Estate Keller Williams, real estate agent, at Feliciavaisa@kw.com.
