SANTA FE, NM (KRQE) – The City of Santa Fe’s Office of Emergency Management works to help prepare for disasters like wildfires. On March 30, the city is inviting the public to learn more about their “Dynamic Evacuation Model” at a public open house.

The event is set for 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Public Safety Building (1600 St Michael’s Drive Bldg #2, Santa Fe, NM 87505). The city invites members of the public along with any interested neighborhood associations.

The dynamic evacuation model is a sandbox-type interactive model. Using geographic data, the model simulates the fire and predicts how it might move through different regions in Santa Fe.

The demonstration is just part of the events planned for the March 30 open house. City officials will provide information on fire danger in specific areas around Santa Fe, information on how to prepare your home, information on evacuation plans and an opportunity. To ask questions.
