ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQY) – The Albuquerque Public Library has been helping the Duke City go a little greener since 2014 with its “Seed library“Through the free program, community members can pick up 30 seed packets each year to start a home garden.

Anyone with an Albuquerque library card and an account in good standing is eligible to pick seeds. The library publishes an updated seed catalog every month, and participants can request one packet of each seed, up to a total of 30 seed packets.

To order seeds for pickup, email the South Broadway Library at southbroadway@cabq.gov with the following information:

  • full name
  • Library Card Number
  • completed Seed library request form
  • Preferred pick-up location
    • East Mountain, Juan Tabo, Rudolph Anaya/North Valley, San Pedro, South Broadway, South Valley, Taylor Ranch or Westgate

In addition to the seed collection program, the library provides care instructions for each packet of seeds and offers a variety of educational gardening sessions. To learn more about Albuquerque’s Seed Library and view upcoming educational events, Click here.
